Cine Luso, Brussels 2019

Held in Brussels, the Cine Luso Espirito Mundo is a meet-up gathering different aspects and nationalities of Lusophony through dialogic processes, as movie debates or residency for the creation of a collective film.

The founder of the Laboratório Sociocriativo (Socio-creative Lab), André Martinez, will contribute to the 2019 edition by performing interventions inspired by the German poet, writer, and scientist Wolfgang Von Goethe. Such interventions will add to the initial methodology development with the organizers and, later, an engaging workshop with resident artists for integration and fusion of ideas.

The audiovisual is the tool that Cine Luso proposes to approximate realties through the Portuguese Language, one of the most spoken languages in the world and present in four continents. The activity takes place from an artistic domain that guides the process from a chosen theme. In this edition, the theme is ‘The world around and the environment’ and the artistic domain is literature. The researcher, writer, and curator Henrique Rodrigues will compose a narrative for the film that will be collectively created during one month.

The project is carried out in partnership with the TV channel Enjeux Télevision to support and divulge the process and the contents produced.

Cine Luso is directed by the poet and curator Aline Yasmin, Brussels resident and founder of the Espírito Mundo Association.

The residency will host 10 Lusophone residents and 10 residents from Brussels, from different areas.
